Delaware Reopening Phase 2 Set for June 15, Extends State of Emergency

Governor John Carney announced that Delaware’s Economic Reopening Phase 2 will go into effect on June 15.  During this phase, locations currently operating at 30% of fire occupancy requirements may move to 60% of fire occupancy requirements, indoor gatherings are permitted with a 50-person limit with social-distancing measures, and fully outdoor gathers can have up to 250 people if public health precautions are in place. Long-term care facilities remain closed to visitors; reopening LTC will not happen until Phase 3. In the meantime, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) has issued guidance for long-term care reopening.

The governor also extended the State Public Health Emergency for the third time on June 6, which he is required by law to renew every 30 days while the emergency exists.
