DHCFA members gathered at Legislative Hall in Dover on Thursday, May 7 for the association’s annual Advocacy Day. More than 30 individuals from 21 member skilled nursing, assisted living, and continuing care communities met with legislators and legislative staff to discuss current bills and issues impacting long-term care in Delaware. Members also attended the Caucus on Aging, led by Senator Spiros Mantzavinos and Representative Kendra Johnson, earlier in the day to represent long-term care.

DHCFA members met with legislators from both their facility and home voting districts, including Senators Dan Cruce, Jack Walsh, Spiros Mantzavinos, Laura Sturgeon, and Trey Paradee, as well as Representative Mara Gorman.
The association also served lunch to the legislative staff. House Majority Leader Kerri Evelyn Harris and Rep. Kamela Smith dropped in to say hello and chat with members.
Capping the day, some of the DHCFA delegation had a quick meet up with Lt. Governor Kyle Gay Evans before she went into session.
