Cheryl Heiks, Delaware Health Care Facilities Association Executive Director, has been reappointed to both the Delaware Health Resources Board (DHRB) and the Delaware Medicaid Advisory Committee (MAC). Executive Director Heiks represents nursing homes and assisted living facilities on both boards.
Delaware Governor Matt Meyer reappointed Executive Director Heiks to a three-year term. The Board consists of 16 members from health care, state agencies, and the public. The DHRB Certificate of Public Review (CPR) process considers applications for health care facilities and equipment investments. The primary goal for the CPR process is to control health care costs through a formal review process used to ensure public scrutiny of certain health care developments in the state. These reviews are focused on balancing concerns for access, cost, and quality.Â
Delaware Division of Medicaid & Medical Services Andrew Wilson reappointed Executive Director Heiks to a two-year term on the MAC. The MAC is a federally mandated advisory group that provides guidance on Medicaid policies and programs. It includes healthcare professionals, advocates, and beneficiaries who offer input to improve Medicaid services, ensuring they meet the needs of beneficiaries and align with federal and state regulations.
