Care and Compassion Choices will lead a conversation about the Delaware End-of-Life Options Act and what it means for professionals. Medical aid in dying is an established clinical practice that provides terminally ill adults the choice to control their end-of-life experience. Experts will discuss key components of the law and how these can impact residential care facilities, addressing compliance, operational considerations, communication with residents and families, and other common questions. Participants will leave with a clear understanding of how to navigate this new law and support staff while honoring resident choice and autonomy at the end of life. Attendees will:
- Be able to summarize key components of the Delaware End of Life Options
- Feel more confident discussing medical aid in dying with residents
- Explore practical approaches to address operational, ethical and clinical considerations regarding medical aid in dying within a residential care setting
LPN Scope of Practice in Delaware

In this session, attendees will get an in-depth review of the Delaware LPN Scope of Practice to help them understand the LPN’s roles, responsibilities, and boundaries. Attendees will be able to:
- Define the scope of practice and its legal/clinical significance
- Identify clinical tasks within the LPN scope under Delaware’s Nurse Practice Act
- Recognize tasks outside the LPN scope, with emphasis on post-fall assessment.
- Describe the RN → LPN → CNA supervisory relationship and accountability
- Apply a decision-making framework when scope uncertainty arises
