DHCFA Members Meet Legislators at Legislative Hall

On May 6, more than 40 advocates from 13 DHFCA skilled nursing and assisted living facilities gathered at Legislative Hall in Dover to ask legislators for their continued support during DHCFA’s annual Advocacy Day. Facility staff and residents met with the legislators who represent their communities to share their joys and their challenges. Residents from Kutz Senior Living and Foulk Senior Living also attend, giving legislators the chance to meet some of the people DHCFA members serve.

Representatives from Complete Care at Silver Lake, Gilpin Hall, Harmony at Glasgow, Genesis Lofland Park, Genesis Milford Center, Genesis Seaford Center, The Center at Eden Hill, The Lorelton, The Vero at Newark. Kutz Senior Living comprises both Kutz Nursing and Rehab and Lodge Lane Assisted Living, while Foulk Living comprises skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.

As DHCFA served lunch to legislators and their staffs, Lt. Governor Kyle Evans Gay dropped in to greet DHCFA members, along with Senators Kyra Hoffner, Valerie Jones Giltner, RN, and Spiros Mantzavinos. Speaker of the House, Rep. Melissa Minor-Brown addressed the group, thanking them for their service. Speaker Minor-Brown is also an RN. Representative Lyndon Yearick also stopped by to meet and greet.
Smaller DHCFA contingents met with Senators Dave Sokola (Senate President Pro Tempore), Nicole Poore, Raymond Seigfried, Elizabeth Lockman (Senate Majority Whip), Dan Cruce, and Stephanie Hansen and Representative Debra Heffernan.
