March 20, 2020 | Corona Virus
H.R. 2601, the Families First Coronavirus Response Act was signed into law on Wednesday, March 12 that will provide a temporary 6.2% increase in Federal Medical Assistance Percentages (FMAP). This gives state Medicaid programs additional funding to deliver quality care to long-term care residents during the COVID-19 pandemic. The law now provides for free coronavirus testing, expanded food and unemployment assistance, and paid sick leave. Questions about remain about implementation, and AHCA/NCAL continues to work on this. Updates, as soon as available, will be released to members.
