This day is set aside to recognize the nursing assistants who dedicated their lives to the well-being of others for 5 to as many as 58 years. Nursing assistants many times work in hospitals and nursing homes performing everyday living tasks for the elderly, chronically ill, or rehabilitation patients who cannot care for themselves.
