Segments include:

Care for Our Seniors Act:  Screening of AHCA’s new video appeal, “Why It’s Time to Transform Nursing Homes.” The 13-minute film offers a look at many of the problems facing the profession and what policymakers and public health officials can do to help alleviate some of the underlying issues, namely provisions of the Care For Our Seniors Act we released earlier this year. A short discussion of the Care For Our Seniors Act will follow.

IDRs: Jennifer Gimler Brady, Esq., will discuss legal aspects around IDRs. Jennifer, partner at Potter Anderson & Coroon LLP,  is an expert in health law, labor and employment law, and commercial ligiation — and a long-time DHCFA supporter.

The Shifting Sands: The Federal Regulatory Outlook: Pamela Truscott, MSN/Ed, RN, RAC-CT, AHCA Director of Clinical and Regulatory Services, will review things CMS and Congress worry about, the survey process, common citation reasons, and 1135 wiavers.

Leadership in Communication: Not Just the DO But the WHY: Martie Moore, MAOM, RN, CPHQ. Martie talks about leadership commitment to communicating with clarity, engagement, and understanding from her chapter in the new anthology Highway to Heart, Humor, and Honesty in Healthcare. Martie is a globally recognized speaker and author – and an expert in innovation that advances nursing practices, health and wellbeing, and care delivery systems. For those of you who attended out AHRQ ECHO National Nursing Home COVID-19 Action Network Continuation Phase sessions, you will recognize Martie from the As the Virus Turns videos.
